1. Railroad Right-of-Way Trail

Explore a historic railroad grade on the Railroad Right-of-Way Trail. Stretching 15 miles from the Bear Gulch Trailhead northeast of Ashton, Idaho, this beautiful route offers views of the Warm River, an exciting railroad tunnel, and beautiful forest scenery. It's open to ATVs that are 50 inches wide or less. Keep in mind that motorized vehicles aren't allowed on the 3 miles between the Warm River Campground and the Bear Gulch Trailhead.

2. Danskin Mountains OHV Area

If you're in the mood for a full weekend of ATV riding, head straight for the Danskin Mountains OHV Area. Located in the Boise National Forest near Mountain Home, Idaho, this system offers a 150-mile trail network that stretches across 60,000 acres. With routes for both beginners and expert riders, this is a great spot for families. The Danskin area usually opens for riding on April 11; it closes on January 1.

3. Clay Peak Recreation Area

Work on your racing and trick riding at the Clay Peak Recreation Area. With 200 acres and 2 miles of trails, this spot boasts tabletops, sweepers, and a variety of natural features. It's open to motorcycles and ATVs; keep an eye out for some of the state's most talented riders and adrenaline-seekers. Clay Peak is located about 4 miles southeast of Payette, Idaho.

4. St. Anthony Sand Dunes

Have you ever wanted to ride your ATV on huge sand dunes? Idaho's St. Anthony Sand Dunes is the perfect destination. The dunes rise as high as 400 feet, creating some of the most exciting riding in the state. Most of the dunes are closed to UTVs in the winter to protect the local wildlife.
